In the Company of Others

In the Company of Others is a  not-for-profit incorporated association based at the Body Voice studio in Footscray, an inner western suburb of Melbourne, Australia. It is made up of a group of artists associated with the studio over an extended period of time initiating a range of performative events, dialogues, and gatherings that recognize the importance of the company of others in the creation of perceptual practice as art. The urban garden: installation event. Eating the nature strip, breathing the street.

During 2011 we will gradually create an edible garden that replaces the nature strip at the entrance to the studio on Wolverhampton Street, incorporating the exterior brick wall into a garden and sculptural design that invites a sense of ease and breath, of communal public garden area. Where food that enhances flavour and taste predominates.

Performance Practicum

Performance Practicum is a collegial company for the independent artist providing a context for the development of singular works — offering direction, dramaturgy, support, guidance, advice, the company of others and the facilities required towards making a viable original devised performance piece.
Practicum artists will be showing works in progress at the Open Studios in the West weekend in November. More here.

Ship of Fools

Ship of Fools is a vocal performance project, a place to make sound, noise, song, rhythm, a voyage into sounds. On board all sounds are welcome, silence is golden, beauty in the ear of the beholder.
